Hi Rozie, >I installed FatBomb 2 and was able to access the admin >interface and did the testing, but what is my site URL? Do you mean the URL to Fatty search? Fatty will create a search box for you in the admin. Also, you can strip the do_login off the admin URL. (strip something like do_login) >And how do I add adsense code and affiliate links to each >page? You add them to your skins. For more info, see the thread: #3 Intro to FatBomb Skins

Hello Kurt, I installed fatBomb 2.0, the admin panel works fine except when I am at the search tab and do a search on any keyword, I receive error at the top as: cannot read channel configuration (/virtual/var/www/cgi-bin/blogbombx/data/config.pl)
I do get search result after the error. Any configuration change I need make to get rid of the error? Thanks very much for your help! Roze

Hi Kurt, I have installed fatbomb, but am unable to understand the part where you talk about databases. The video shows a florida.txt file. Is that the database? What am I supposed to put in the database file? I have also read the "4 Making Pages using Fatbomb" thread where you talk about opening the redirector folder and edit the .htaccess file. Well, I cant find the redirector folder but I do have the .htaccess file in the root folder.
I also dont know about the redirector.htaccess file that you talk about. Sorry, I know this must be sounding stupid to you, but I am not sure what to do here. With a little help from you guys I will be good to go. bye, faraz |

Hi Faraz, These topics are covered on Fatty thread #4 Making Pages. Please continue the conversation on the same threads you started them, so we can keep the forum as organized as possible. http://www.dombom.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=1&forum=DCForumID42

hi Kurt, after watching the video and cofniguring the Fatty, I get an error message when trying to use the Fatty search, cannot read channel configuration (/virtual/var/www/cgi-bin/blogbombx/data/config.pl) I don't have BBX installed and tried to uncheck werever Fatty asked for BB feeds. Any idea on where I should go from here? Thanks, Dan |

Any idea on where I should go >from here? 1. Double check that the "data" directory has permissions set to 755. 2. Then make sure blogbomb feed is NOT enabled in "FEEDS" page in the fatty admin. After you "disable" the path to Blogbomb in your admin, make sure to hit "update". Just to be sure, repeat, but push "update all" at the bottom of the page. After you update, does the admin web page change the _ Yes _No so that _No is checked?

Dan, Actually, let's do this first: Log into the Fatty admin If you see any text that says: Configure BlogBomb feeds "blogbomb" Click the corresponding delete button.

Try adding things like Youtube videos, photos from Morguefile etc. Also, try "spinning" some of the meta descriptions and titles. You can use an auto-spin for this since titles and descriptions don't have to be perfectly readable in the sense that articles do. I've only tested this a little, but I didn't have a problem with spinning the URLs...Just keep an eye on the URLs so they don't get spun. I just loaded a Fatty file in The Best Spinner and it seemed to work pretty well, but it's been a while since I last did it.

Join the MadBomber VIP club here http://www.dombom.com/vip/clk/54sr37 Hi Kurt, I had not thought about spinning the text. Thanks for that. What i was looking for is that I know without adjustments fatbomb engine files may stop working. I was asking if the google engine files are still working pretty well. Kelvin |

Having said this, it would be fairly easy for any perl programmer to update them, just expect them to break at any time.
