"BlogBomb - The RSS Version"
|
How to get the RSS export version of BlogBomb... Email a copy of your receipt for BlogBomb and I'll email you the RSS version. My email and paypal address is: lvha@aol.com You must have either bought BlogBomb before this forum, or upgraded to BBX2 through this forum. Owners of BlogBomb 1 don't qualify. I don't recommend "upgrading" older installations, rather make a new install to use for blackhole type RSS pheeds.

This version of BlogBomb can be used to create blackhole type RSS pheeds. Note that these pheeds won't have the variety that the blackhole method I described, but using BlogBomb is MUCH easier. You can set this up in a number of ways, but here's a suggestion: Create categories: Tin Silver Gold As you create resources, add their RSS pheeds to the proper category(ies). If you make a resource such as a static site that doesn't produce an RSS pheed, create one by hand. In this case, add a couple of items for the homepage, using different titles/descriptions (for variety), as well as a few items to a few important pages. Add gold pheeds to gold sites to all three categories. Add silver pheeds to silver sites to tin and silver categories. Add tin pheeds to the tin category only. Then, start adding your own pheeds to any and all resources you can. If you have multiple hosting with unique IPs, you can install an instance of BlogBomb on each IP. Then, you only need to add the pheeds that the "main" BlogBomb exports to the second/third/fourth installs, and don't need to add each individual pheed. Now, use RSS submit for each instance and set the Pingz Tuel to ping each pheed once or twice per day. If you want to get really blackhat, set up a throw-away IP/host and ping it every hour or so...But this is high risk and you could get your IP banned by the ping services, so understand the risk.

Hi Lewis, This really should have been posted on the BlogBomb install thread... You can modify the password directly in this file: data/config.pl Open it in a text editor (not Notepad) and make any mods, then reupload it, being sure to use the text/ascii mode in your FTP program.

Hi Jason, Blogger uses Atom, which really isn't RSS, so RSS won't work with Blogger. Not sure about Tripod... Does your pheed validate?

Hey Kurt, pheed validates in some resources not in others, i think it may be due to the time it can take. Sometimes 5 mins. I may have missed something but in building a whole bunch of tin sites, I thought it was to use the content I spun plus adding my pheed (important for cross linking) thought i read people using blogger? Do we have a list of sites that accept the BB pheed to use?
I ask this as i'm about to outsource the creation of tin sites so I can concentrate on building other blogs etc. I have spun the content plus the pheed but little time. Cheers Jason >>Hi Kurt, >> >>I've tried adding my BB feed to blogger and Tripod, but both >>are saying invlaid url. >> >>Is there anything I should do? Hi Jason, >pheed validates in some resources not in others, i think it >may be due to the time it can take. Sometimes 5 mins. This is a problem and I'm not sure what's causing it. It should be virtually "instant". Is BB installed on a quality host? >I may have missed something but in building a whole bunch of >tin sites, I thought it was to use the content I spun plus >adding my pheed (important for cross linking) thought i read >people using blogger? Blogger is one of many options. It is just a "special needs" resource. Try www.feedburner.com to merge all your pheeds, it will import/export atom pheeds along with RSS. Just note that feedburner is owned by Google. >Do we have a list of sites that accept the BB pheed to use? All sites that accept RSS, which is the vast majority. Google only accepting atom is the rare exception. However, with your BBX2 RSS timing out, you'll have a very high error rate. You need to get this fixed some how, as nothing else matters if your RSS pheed can't be reached.

Hi Kurt, >This is a problem and I'm not sure what's causing it. It >should be virtually "instant". > >Is BB installed on a quality host? > Its on Hostgator, have not got round to get new hosting with trying to sort things out, that was going to be next after some tin sites established. Looks like I need to do this first. If I test some of my smaller feeds I created its OK, but with the main one it's just SLOW. >Blogger is one of many options. It is just a "special needs" >resource. "Special needs" - very cryptic??? Cheers Jason |
