3. "RE: How to Deal with a Google Slap"

Thanks guys for the thanks...But Perry Marhsall should really get the thanks. I'm not an AdWords expert by any means, but from reading the news about Google slaps, it would seem to me that many of the principles of Bombing and using Tuelz would really apply here. If Google wants targeted sales pages, why not give it to them? This site and tuelz were designed to create multiple pages and perform SEO on them. It would seem that having a landing page SEO'ed for each keyword (or small group of keywords), that's optimized for the same keyword that is bidded on in AdWords would/could greatly reduce the expense per click that web masters are paying. This may be an even more profitable way to exploit SEO than getting natural rankings and something many of us need to look into...

This article of Perry's is a very informative article. I certainly did not know you could check the quality of a keyword you are bidding on. But you can, once you have a campaign, I checked it for myself. This is important to me as I am spending quite a bit of a client's money every day on adwords. It is reassuring to check and find every keyword selection I had made was great. I didn't check every word, it was the end of the day and I have thousands. But all my main keywords are rating great. The google column report indicated I could bid as low as 3 cents and my keywords would still be active. However, I am currently bidding over a $1, sometimes as high as $5. My CTR would fall if I lowered my bid and I suspect my minimum bid might rise as my CTR fell. I am not sure of that but it is something I am pondering. I believe the minuimum bid is not currently related to CTR, at this moment. But knowing google for how much longer? Castle |
