Rotatez

When we setup Rotatez, is the idea to have the same information never show again once it has been used already or is it okay to show it again over time?

Rotatez can be used for both, it depends what you want to do with it. If you just want to rotate headers for a forum, you may want to repeat once a week.

Also, in order for it to never repeat you will need an "infinite" number of pages, so in reality at some point in time Rotatez will need to repeat.

When using rotatez, it asks for a directory where the rotated files are to be located.

You also have to define a single file on your website to change.

if the file name is example.html

will it remain the same name after running rotatez. Just changing the file content as a template, or does the rotated file retain the name of the newly uploaded files?

To clarify...

All files in your rotatez folder will be renamed as they are uploded, so they replace the file on your website each time.

Rotatez is probably the easiest of all the ZZ tuelz to use. Yet this deceptively simple program is very very powerful.

I used it to solve a problem from over a year ago. I had a problem because I wanted to use includes with fatbomb. However, you cannot use includes on the cgi generated files.

But now using rotatez I can use to in place of the includes command.

Another use would be to keep at least the main page of any site changing, appearing new to search engines. For example I have a site with 80 articles. Not much freshness there. But, using rotatez I can at least rotate the main page every day. You could take it to another level by adding a tracking function to each page, whether it be to links , or images. Then you can just check your states to see which page got the best or desired results.

Another would be to use it for a site that was tip of day. But instead of changing it every day. Why not load it for 30 days, 60 or even 120. Then maybe use another tool like pagez to add in more varibles. Now you have a site that appears to deliver a new tip every day.

What about resource of the day or week? Just deliver a new URL every day.

I've noticed that the files I want to rotate have not been rotating. I think that I have done everything as explained. Could there be some issue I dont know about?

If Rotatez is only showing a few files where there used to be more, try reloading your folder of files by navigating to the folder again, then clicking "modify".

This seems to have worked for me.

Same issue. The folder with the files to rotate stay on my pc right? I mean the only file I physically have to ftp is the one say, index.html right?

I made five copies of the same page and changed certain things. Well actually its a real estate website for my wife, she is a realtor. So I want to feature a different house that she is selling everyday. Problem is since I created these they have never rotated. I would never have noticed cause I make em and move on. She noticed it and brought it to my attention.

Each file will be renamed, then uploaded. Just like FTP, when a file is uploaded, it is actually copied and the copy is uploaded, leaving the original on your hard drive.

Did you do as I suggested and reloaded the files?

Start over and put it in test mode, set for one minute and see if it works. Check the page in your browser to see if all 5 pages are uploaded. If so, see if Rotatez will recycle through the list of files.

Why are my tuelz now only limited versions? I paid full price when I got bought them?

If you need the receipts, I still have them.

Why are you posting on the Rotatez thread?

As far as your question, you tell me? I can't change the versions from paid to limited on my end. It's impossible for me to do.

It's up to you to back up your hard drive, which includes Tuelz.
