Can any one suggest a plugin or alternative method on how to embed RSS feeds in to a wordpress blog post. I can't imagine it should be as hard as I am seeming to be finding it for some reason?

LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-09 AT 02:47 AM (PST) There are tons of "auto blogging" plugins out there. Do a search on Google or even Wordpress and you should find one that will work for you. There are even a few free ones floating around. I hope this helps Phil

Hi,Perhaps the most popular is WP O Matic http://devthought.com/wp-o-matic-the-wordpress-rss-agreggator/. It works pretty well, but the developer(s) haven't updated it in a while, although according to their website and twitter page http://www.twitter.com/wpomatic it would be coming soon. Another is called Feedwordpress http://projects.radgeek.com/feedwordpress . This also works pretty well, but is a bit of a hassle to configure. As Phil said, search on google or even the wordpress plugin directory http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ , there are a few out there, these 2 are perhaps the best known, but there are others. Ron

I have blog bomb so if you can tell me what you did to get it to work that would be a brilliant option.

Thats how I did it, using the php include option on blog bomb, and the exec-php plug in. Make sure to follow the instructions in your wp administration on what to do to make the plug in work. Russ

I've never used BlogBomb before so this gives me an excuse to experiment with it. I would love to be able to effectively create a portfolio of "autoblogs". Tony

Hi Tony - I actually made a mistake in that. It should have been: source RSS feeds => cleaner scripts => Blogbomb => output RSS => YAAB plugin for Wordpress
I need to update the news feed cleaner scripts, as the Google one has stopped working. I want to see if I can write a replacement using Bing, and I want to upgrade both that and the Yahoo version to use one of the RSS libraries (probably will use Magpie, as SimplePie has announced they will no longer work on the project). Jeff

LAST EDITED ON Nov-12-10 AT 04:11 PM (PST) In case anyone is still wanting to use blogbomb with wordpress (think of the power of having posts that are just ripped RSS content generated however often you please!) I have done this. It took a bit of searching and plotting, but I got it down with WP-O-Matic. Unfortunately the site has been down for some time, but you can still download this through the WP plugin install in your admin. Just search for wp-o-matic. Install the plug. Now add RSS feeds to your blog's posts by using the feed created by blogbomb! Use an url like this in wp-o-matic:http://www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin/feeds/feedsearch_ssi.cgi?cat=1&keywords=key+words&mode=all&format=rss Wp-O-Matic will add up to 5 different feeds to a single category. So you could pick 5 keywords and export "X" amount of posts per feed. Be careful to read the instructions, as if you don't delegate the amount of posts to create your blog will ...Explode... quite quickly. That's it! Use wp-o-matic to import blogbomb's rss feed to fuel your blog. This is auto-blogging with instant, relevant, constant data updated however often you like. You will have to setup a CRON job through your host(If you don't know what this is, a CRON is basically a UNIX command that tells a program to run at a certain time), so I'm not sure if you could use this with FREE WP accounts, but I will try soon and update the thread. You can literaly setup an automated blog with relevant posts in under 20 minutes. The hardest part is picking your template and keywords, haha. Setup however many of these as you want, and you will have a powerful network of blogs that generate relevant content and links. Use your link juice accordingly. Enjoy Chris

I have found an easier way to do this. Although its not for autoblogging. But I am using it to include the feeds from blogbomb into the wordpress post.use this code where you have written your post: <?php include 'http://www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin/blogbomb/feedsearch_ssi.cgi?channel=user-19.xml'?> ofcourse, I have php-exec plugin as one of my wordpress plugins.
if something is not clear, then please ask and I will try to clear it up. Faraz
