Let me kick this off with one of my favorite methods of website promotion: articles.

This is what I use when I want to bump a page - or even a site - in Google. I usually see the effect in Google within a week.

It is the fastest method I use to get valuable backlinks and indexing in the search engines. Better in my opinon than blogging and pinging.

Write a 500 word article with a keyword-targeted link back to your website in the resource box.

If I wrote the content for the website it is easy enough to modify the content for an article. If the content comes from other sources, then it takes a little longer, but not more than an hour.

Then submit to article directories with a good PageRank. I use ArticleSubmitterPro to automate most of the process. It lets me pick different directories for different articles, and to rotate different resource boxes for one article so that I can increase the range of targeted keywords.

I have a selection of about 40 'favorite' article directories pre-selected in the software, all with high PageRanks, that I can choose from to submit my article.

This is not just for a link from a high PR site and increased search engine visibility. I receive comments all the time from people who have read an article, like it, and are interested in more information.

If you are talking about articles, one thing to remember is using different media.

Don't forget that PDF is now scanable and searchable by search engines.

So, publish the same article in PDF.

Take it a step further and make the pdf article brandable.

Take it a step further, and add a link or two, to affiliate programs. Keep your sig file in tack, but allow other to brand the file with their affiliate links.

On the subject of "articles," I've been running www.wordswarehouse.com for a while and it's content, which comes from others is growing. You may find something there to use, spin, whatever.

After having to "approve" manually in the start, I have put submissions on "auto-approve." You're free to use anything there you find usable. That's actually the reason I put it up, so we bombers would have another source of "words" to use.

Using Tuelz, you can do wonders with these articles. While some may put a copyright on their articles, the site states that they are submitting to "public domain" use. They had to agree to that to be able to submit.

All bombers are welcome to use the site as a source.
