#0, Running your own Wordpress-based affiliate program, and a Godfather question

Hey all,

I currently have two flagship sites, BarbaraLing.com and Virtual-coach.com, along with 100s of deindexed sites.

I'm playing around with some ideas for re-energizing these sites and want to ensure I include (besides bomb-content) the ability to sign up for either a newsletter or an AR followup series about the niche in question...with the goal selling a $7 or $17 pdf file as the ultimate backend.

Last week, I came across the WP Affiliate Program over at

http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate-platform-plugin-simple-affiliate-program-for-wordpress-blogsite-1474

and bought that as well as their eStore plugin. So far, I'm rather delighted about how amazingly simple these plugins are to use...and figure that if one of my niche sites does take off, the affiliate plugin will give other sites reasons to promote them as well. (You sell your product via Paypal and the plugin records how much you owe your affiliates).

It's something to consider if you want to affiliateize your own WP site.

Long long ago, back in, 2005? or so I wrote site generators that used Fatbomb and BBX2 etc. (still have those ksh scripts!). Now, right before 2010...I think I'd like to revisit that idea but use auto-generated content too.

It appears that Godfather is what I'm looking for - would this be correct? I think I bought all the tuelz years ago....

Best wishes,

Barbara

Hi Barb,

Godfather for server-side and ZZ Tuel for desktop/client side will both drip-feed and build pages from RSS pheeds.

@barbara - based on my experience with my own online product shop I was running a couple of years ago - it is not a good idea to cut out the middleman )))

Back then I bought a quite expensive affiliate management script with all the bells and whistles only to find out that its almost impossible to find affiliates that way.

If I remember correctly I got 1 or 2 signing up versus hundreds signing up over an affiliate network!

This was years ago now with all that competition....
