Here's a peek at the BBx2 admin Main Page.

As you can see, BBx2 allows you to add categories, and each category can specify it's own cache time and output template which controls how the pheeds will look on your pages:

Next, if you click on a category's "Update Pheeds" link, we'll come to a page similar to below:

Below is how the BlogBomb 1 Admin appears. As you can see, BBx2 allows you to:

- Add List Of Pheeds: (enter XML URLs only) You can just enter a list of RSS links and BBx2 will take care of the rest. With BlogBomb 1, you need to enter each pheed one at a time...

- BBx2 also offers sophisicated keyword search, as well as builds the SSI tags you need to insert in your pages automatically for you.

- The BBx2 admin also gives you links to the RSS pheed, and preview links as well.

BBx2 is the most powerful, SEO friendly RSS to html script there is...

I'm confused! Apparently I'm doing something wrong.

I have installed BlogBomb Xtreme 2 - that went fine or so it seems.

The problem is I don't know what all I need to enter into the Admin Area.

I set up a category and entered my feed URL into "Xtreme! Add List Of Pheeds:"

I then clicked "Generate" and then "Test" - I get a Page Not Found error. I noticed when I clicked on Test in your example above that a page displayed.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Lewis

Hi Lewis,

Open:
data/config.pl in a text editor.

Find the line that calls the feedsearch...looks like this:
$FEEDSEARCH_SSI_URL = "http://blogbomb.com/cgi-bin/BBx2";;

You need to change the URL to match your own domain and set up.

This should fix the preview problem...But should not affect if the SSI tags work on your pages.

I had already made that change but maybe I didn't do it correctly.

Does it matter if it's in a sub-doamin?

Here is what I entered:

$FEEDSEARCH_SSI_URL = "http://factguide.info/cigars/cgi-bin/BBx2";;

Thanks,

Lewis

Hi Kurt,

I found the problem. When I installed BlogBomb Xtreme 2, the name of the folder was BBx2.1-full.

I renamed it to BBx2 - the Test works fine.

Now I will work on getting the feed to work on my websites.

Thanks,

Lewis

Im trying hard to learn these applications but really having a hard time.
for example I have installed fatbomb and blogbomb on 1 site. when I try to do a fatbomb.cgi search I get the message below, but the results show on the page.

cannot read channel configuration
(/virtual/var/www/cgi-bin/blogbomb/data/config.pl)

Then the results of the search show.

Also, how do I combine the power of all the bombs and tuelz??????

Hi Russ,

Relax, it's no big deal.

Fatty just can't find BlogBomb to use it in the search results.

You have two options:

1. In Fatty admin, go to "feeds" and delete the existing "blogbomb" feed.

2. If you want to include BlogBomb results in the Fatty results, then you need to modify the FULL server path. The full server path can be hard to determine, so just email your hosting support and ask them if they can tell you the FULL server path to /blogbomb/feedsearch_ssi.cgi

Then just paste that into the "path" box in "feeds" and you're all set.

This isn't a question than can be answered in a single post.

The best way is to takes things one at a time and to particpate in the forum.
Go to the link "Plan and Goals" and take it from there. If you have questions that don't fit anywhere else, post on that thread.

Also, not everything here is intended to be used with every other resource. Nor are you going to learn everything here in a week.

This isn't intended to be a step by step program of a "one size fits all" solution. It's a wide variety of tools and strategies to help you expand your web presence.
