Hi Kurt,

Are you aware of a replacement for cbbomb?

Hey Kelvin,

I'm not aware of any...

What a coincidence...I was just looking at CB's data feed. Unfortunately, it seems to be for merchants looking for things to sell instead of targeted to buyers looking for things to buy.

Let's keep our eyes open for a CB database we can use for Fatty...There has to be something out there.

Kurt,

I may have an answer to this question. I have some software that, when I first acquired it, made me immediately think of it's use within bombs. It's a CB script.

I need to look it up, check it's rights/info and see what I'm capable of doing. I'll email you a bit later in the day and discuss it.

Anyone that wants a copy of an old Clickbank Database to use with Fatbomb can get it here, http://www.sadsobstories.info/wp/CB-DB.txt please note that this database is a little dated but it still works. Simply copy it, do a find/replace for the XXXXX and insert your Clickbank nickname. Then upload it to your fatty, wherever you have your other databases.

Enjoy!

Yes, an updated one would be really nice, but if you are hard pressed fpr time and stuff, this one of Gil's might be okay.

Btw, did you see my post about that server? I got the new VPS so contact me about hosting your domain.

Hey Ed, an up dated cb db would be great. However, for use with fatty you would have to set it up as such:

Scraped content from Clickbank does not work too well because the description are for affiliates mainly.

The best thing I have found is to manually make a fatty style database of the products in your niche with good description etc.

You can setup different Clickbank ID's for your tin, silver and gold sites and use the feed in Fatbomb, Blogbomb or ZZ.

This might be a good project to share, if everybody did their niche and shared it??

Hey Noel,

This is a good idea...It could also be done through the skills exchange. Maaybe sonething like, "I have 100 CB products in the ___ niche, will trade for similar"...

I don't "do" CB, so you guys are on your own to get it together...

Noel,

I thought about something like this before, but wasn't sure how much of a workload it would be.

Kurt's right, if a few of us work on something like this together, we could complete a ton of sections, then add then together if we want to.

Good thinking!

I got an idea that might save abit of time. instead of writing a description for each products, we just go to each salescopy and just copy their sales title. some of them are pretty good too.

Ed,

I am not pulling the content from the site, I am writing title tags and descriptions myself so it fits with the keywords and content on my pages.

The file was just an example.

I think the description is important for me as it adds relevant content to my pages.

Ed,

I think we got our wires crossed here, what I was suggesting is we each do a Clickbank niche manually with say 50 - 100 products and share that.

I think it would be difficult to scrape Clickbank for title and descriptions because the information is mostly geared towards getting affiliates for their products and not customers which is what we would need.

The only possibility would be if you could get a list of Clickbank hoplinks and use that to scrape the individual merchants page meta tags.

Thanks

Noel

Hi Noel,

Let me explain how I got the attachment in post #16.

I gathered all the hoplinks from CB AND THEN grabbed the description from the actually product site.

So everything is geared towards the customer not the affiliate.

Sorry for not explaining this better.

That wouldn't by any chance be CB Tagger would it?

I was talking to the owner a few minutes ago and he said he is thinking of updating it.

Nope, not CB Tagger.

I have another Bomber trying the program at the moment. Purpose is to see if it's understandably easy to use. I don't have any problems with it but I know others might/have. However, I'm of the belief that Bombers can figure it out where some "others" couldn't.

I'm waiting to hear back from said Bomber about their experience. If positive, I'll offer it to the group.

I am not sure that it fits into what we are looking for here, but, for what its worth, I have a Clickbank script that is basically designed to be an Adsense Alternative. It is called CBsense and can be reviewed at www.CBsense.com.

Now the one interesting thing about this script is that it has the option to put out Clickbank items (or any others for that matter) in RSS.

To be honest, I bought the rights to the script but have found it to be so complicated that I am unable to develope it on my own. It is PHP and I am a poor programmer.

If anyone has any suggestions on how this script could be developed to be of use with bommer scripts, I would be happy to listen. I am happy to send the script with anyone who has some ideas.

John,

That is mighty generous of you to offer it to the group. Thanks!

Btw, you are right, most Bombers can figure out a lot of things other people can't even imagine.

I know I've learned how to manipulate lots of script to intergrate with the Bombs and Tuelz. To me, they are the best thing since sliced bread when people learn how to use them right.

Hey Phil,

Does it use the text boxes like the adsense blocks do? If so, I might be able to come up with something that you can do with it. We'll have to discuss it some more of course. Just PM me about it.

Has anyone tried to mess with this and see if they have any luck?

To demonstrate how such an interface could be created, we've written working code that can download, parse, and generate HTML ads from the marketplace feed. The code can be downloaded from this page. It is an example written in PHP and while ClickBank doesn't actively support this code, we encourage anyone to take the code and modify it for their own purposes. Sharing with others or rewriting the code in another language is encouraged! The point is to show merely one of the many possible ways that the marketplace feed could be downloaded, parsed, and integrated into ads for a website.

To view the sample code, download this zip file <https://www.clickbank.com/cbads/cbads.zip>.

NOTE: ClickBank offers this code only as a demonstration. Although it does run, ClickBank does not provide technical support for this code nor provide any warranties regarding its use.

I've managed to grab a 17 meg xml clickbank marketplace file, but in order to unzip it, I have to download it, unzip it and then reupload it, and I can't get the file to parse the xml file.

I'm no programmer but the script seems pretty straightforward, and I have a feeling it's a script for windows, not unix. I spent the day tweaking it and got nowhere.

I've looked at this file to see if it could be converted to a format we could use.

The problem is, the data seems to be more for affiliates that end users. It gives gravity, copmmisions etc, which isn't what we need.

Hi Ed...

That's looks good. It would be great if you could make this available to the BombSquad.

The FatBomb format also makes it easy to convert into RSS, using the RZZ Tuel, so the results could also be exported using RSS/BlogBomb/ZZ, etc.

Also, you could use the Linez Tuel to "cut lines containing" any relevant keywords to create smaller, more efficient files for particular niches.

Just a quick note...I'm not a CB affiliate (long story), so it's up to everyone else to oversee stuff related to CB.

It's supposed to create CB Pheeds but I don't know in what context or ext.

I'm bogged down with another project at the moment and don't have time to look at it. Didn't think it'd be right that, if it fills a need, that I should just "sit" on it.

I have someone working on a program that will allow you to extract raw data files from clickbank.

There are many of the CB mall type sites, but I personally don't like them. I, would much rather have raw data that I can work with. And I am sure many here are of the same mind.

The basic output, for bombers, would be in fatbomb format, see:
http://www.domainsubmit.com/webmaster-resources/clickbank.txt

This would allow you to use it in both fatbomb and RSS Tuelz.

It will be searchable by keyword.
By several smaller databases sorted by clickbank categories.

I have other thoughts, but not all will be posted here.

As bombers, what else, would you like to see from this system.

Kelvin,

That'll work! I can't think of anything else at the moment. The main thing for me would be to have the ability to use specific keywords and phrases with the feeds. That can be done very easily.

Let me know when you are finished. I so do want to try this one out as soon as possible.

Hi Mary,

Just to clarify, the first generation of the script will not be in RSS format.

everyone has that already.

The first generation will be primarily so it can be in fatbomb format.

This way you can enter your keywords and get the output you want, then run it through tuelz rss for your rss output.

Then if you have zz tuelz, you will be in even better position to take advantage of keywords and phrases both in the descriptions and titles.

If you need to know more search for zz tuelz.

Hi Everyone!

I am back from the dead! Actually, I'm not really back... still operating on low levels of sleep with our second son still not sleeping through the night!

OK. I have a CB FEED for your use!

I want everyone in the BombSquad to get it...

BUT! I have a favor.

I was thinking of making this a WSO.... Do you think it would sell? If so for how much? Any input would be great!

Here is the Business Category in Xls format. This way you can manipulate it any way you want.

acquirewisdom.com/sites-testing/bombers/CB-Business.zip

I'm still working on the other categories. Its taken hours of work....

What do you think? Is it useful? Please let me know about the viability and price for a WSO for ALL the categories.

Of course the BombSquad gets it all free!

Any helps is appreciated.

I wanted to give a little more info on the CB file I have acquirewisdom.com/sites-testing/bombers/CB-Business.zip

It basically has all the data that you would get from CB. The reason is so you can sort and sift and figure out what the best products you want.

Of course, you will need to do a find and replace of xxxxx with your cb id.

Again, please let me know if you would buy this and for how much (I am planning to have a WSO). You guys get anything I do for free.

Any other comments?

Thanks,

Hi Chris...

There's another board on this forum about Fatty that's public.

Here's a link to how to use custom databases:
http://www.dombom.com/dcforum/DCForumID24/8.html

You may want to skim some of the other threads, as well.
