#0, A case study.... and help request!

Hello All,I am in the process of trying to truly leverage fatty and all the other tools. I would love your input as I move along this path.
Currently, I have three domains around the same niche. They have been around for a few years and are getting quite a bit of traffic. Unfortunately, not much $$$.
I blew up one of the domains (call it BDOMAIN)while upgrading the drupal installation. It was getting about 6000+ unique visitors a month before I blew it up!
From the stats for the three domains I have thousands and thousands of keyword phrases.
So.... For BDOMAIN, what should I do with fatty? Should I create a search directory? Would it push traffic back to my other two domains via searches, or links? I'm really not sure how to proceed.
Thanks in advance and blessings,
Ed

HI Ed,I think you worry too much about being "perfect".
What do YOU think you should do with Fatty on Bdomain?
Here's two "things" that are the most important part of success:
1. Be decisive. Like the old war general once said, "A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow". Stop worrying about what is right, and just decide what is next.
2. Be productive. Don't think, just do. Next time, do something different. Keep doing something different until you find a winner.
One thing you must do is...You say your sites have traffic...Put up a search box and record their searches...They will tell you what they are interested in.

Hi,
With a lot of playing around with fatbomb I have finally started to understand , how it works and will be buying the upgrade very soon. Now, what I want to do is to create a hub site.
My site is http://www.rowlingpotter.com
If you go to the above site you will notice how I have created links for the keywords related to harry potter, such as lord voldermort(the page generated by fatty is http://www.rowlingpotter.com/lord-voldemort.html ) and harry's parents, etc. I have just created links in these cases and fatty has generated the pages.
Now, I want to take it further and want to build it like a complete hub site.
I would also like to add few snippets and articles in the pages generated(later on) so that these are termed as good quality pages.
Please give me a few ideas on how to progress with it. I just have a vague idea about it and would requred all the help i can get.
bye,

Hi Faraz,You're missing a header graphic...
First thing...Your keyowords are too keyword dense. You need more LSI related keyword. And you should toss in a few long tail keywords.
For content, go find 200+ EXCELLENT/High PR/High Qualilty sites to link to.
At the same time, create a blog farm of 20-300 blogs using the Blog Explosion Software and/or other software.
Get your hands on as much relevant/legal content about your niche as you can, using it and RSS pheeds to feed your blog farm.
Get yourself about 20 accounts at each of the 10-15 best social bookmarking sites.
Submit your best blog posts to the various social bookmarking sites.
Create RSS pheeds from everything you do.
Submit your RSS pheeds everywhere you can.
Use your own RSS pheeds whenever you can, creating a self-linking network.
Include many of your own blogs in your Fatty database. Have your results mixed with the best sites, highest PR pages you can find.
Direct much of your linkin and your traffic to your main/gold site.

Can you clarify the above, do you mean get links from 200+ EXCELLENT/High PR sites or link out to them?
What software do you use to create rss from static pages?
Thanks

I mean to build a database "by hand" of high quality sites that can be used in Fatty.
A good place to find these sites is ODP, the old Yahoo directory (not the seach engine!!!), etc.
It's my theory that you inherit some of the relevancy and trust the sites you LINK TO.
Many only speak about getting good links, but not of the value of linking to good sites. If we assume it's bad to link to "bad neighborhods" then maybe we should assume it's a good thing to link to good sites and pages.
Now, we want to mix in our own links with the high quality links to give our own links a little "boost".
>What software do you use to create rss from static pages?
I don't really know what's best to use...I've tried a few and didn't like them too much.

Do you mean that the articles I use are too keyword dense?? I didnt quite understand. Should I use lsi related keywords in those articles or should I put different themes for the site.

Okay, I will find the 200+ sites. Do I just link to these sites or should I use articles from those sites?? Not sure!

I just googled blog explosion and it seems like it is a blog surfing community just like the traffic exchanges.I dont see any mention of software. I dont know if i am looking at the right site or not. this is the site I saw --- http://www.blogexplosion.com/

And then submitting these pheeds to other places, right??

Hi Kurt,
Had a few questions here in response to your last reply.Do you mean that the articles I use are too keyword dense??

Hi Faraz,Mou is correct (Thanks Mou)...Use any/all of the free software on the "Your Own Blog Farm - Network" thread.
>Do you mean that the articles I use are too keyword dense??
>I didnt quite understand. Should I use lsi related keywords
>in those articles or should I put different themes for the

I'm talking about the links you have in your side bar. They all contain "Harry Potter" as a root keyword. What are some of the characters' names? Expand beyond the mocro-niche you're currently focused on.

You enter them into a custom database for Fatty.

Sorry, this is <again> in reference to the three free programs on the "Your Own Blog Farm - Network" thread , specifically the Blogger/RSS program. It also includes Squidoo and Hubpages and the social bookmarking sites.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-19-07 AT 04:29 PM (PST)
Hi everyone,I am about to do some massive spinning but wanted a sanity check and and comments, input, etc.
This is my REAL site -- stopacidrefluxtoday.com
Almost everything you see is done via SSI. The left and right navigation AND the Newsletter Subscription.
If you REFRESH you will see that the Amazon stuff on the right changes. I used Amazon Bomb and BBX2 together. I put 4 XML URLs from AmazonBomb to BBX2. The only change was the page number. So this gave me 4 pages of data to pull from. Then I generated a special SSI tag with NO keywords (already done in Amazon) set to "scuffle" (give random results).
You'll see at the bottom right helpful links -- all are highly respected places. So hopefully I'll be in a good neighborhood.
The navigation to the left has articles on each subject. The anchor text are keyword phrases I will probably pound away at.
What you don't see are my other pages or site map because I am waiting for approval for a product before I link them in.
So....
Go to
stopacidrefluxtoday.com/more-info/
and
stopacidrefluxtoday.com/more-acid-reflux-1/
Clik on any page.... These are static pages.
I created them using httrack, linez, replacez, superlistz, and keymapz
First, I create a skin that ONLY gets the results back. No navigation, header, footer or anything. JUST the results. The reason for this is so I can build any type of looking and feel around the results. I.e. so I can make other web sites...
NOTE: I used tags (like comment tags) all over for easy find and replace later.
Second, I took about 20 of my keywords and stuck it into linez --
alpha sort,
find/replace (space) for +
suffix with .html
prefix with http://.....
Third, pasted into httrack and let it do its magic.
Fourth, I used dreamweaver, but I think you can use replacez too. I replaced the STUFFABOVE (I created this) with the information that needed to go ABOVE the returned results.
I them did the same thing for the STUFFBELOW for the information that needed to go below the returned results.
Fifth, I used replacez.
-- Paste the keywords into linez and did alpha sort. This is KEY or else your keywords will NOT match up to pages properly.
-- Pasted those keywords into Replacez
-- Selected the folder where the files are
-- Selected "Page By Page". This is also key. This makes sure that the same keywords show up on the same page.
-- I replaced the tags I had in the pages (Title, description, above the search box, over to the right navigation)
Sixth, I used superlistz
-- You'll notice the title tags has different titles. I used ZBEFORETITLEZ ZKEYWORDZ ZAFTERTITLEZ in the title field and replaced each one.
Seventh, I used keymapz to create a minimap at the bottom of each page to create the interlinking.
That's it.
I took me several hours to work all this out (3-4) but now I can create literally thousands of pages in a matter of minutes. Really, it takes no more time to create 1000 pages as it does to create 1 page once you have the sequence down and use tools to help you.
Some notes:
1. Can I make a shameless plug for the tool I recommended in the "Buy-sell Thread"? Roboform www.roboform.com/php/land.php?affid=passz
On linez, replacez, keymapz, and other areas, this tool fills in the settings for me so everything is always there, in case I forget! Make things so much faster.
2. Make a copy of the directory you are modifying until you KNOW you don't mess up. Or else you'll be sorry and have to start all over again.
3. I loaded fatty into another domain that I use ONLY for this spinning? Why? So I don't screw up my current installations. You see, I will go into the search engines area and change the weights each time and the number of results, etc. This allows unique results to be returned. Works well!
SOME HELP from you:
1. I would consider this a silver site, would you?
2. At the top right in my RSS Feed. There is nothing linked becuause I don't know what link to put there! Is it my tin.rss, silver.rss or what?
3. With the two sub-directories I showed above, I think I can make these into new website right?
4. Any and all comments are welcome....
Merry Christmas,
Ed

Hi Ed,First, thanks for the post. Greatly appreciate it.
>1. I would consider this a silver site, would you?
It's tin/silver site. If you use your real affiliate IDs on a domain/server/host that can be traced to you, it's silver.
>2. At the top right in my RSS Feed. There is nothing linked
>becuause I don't know what link to put there! Is it my
>tin.rss, silver.rss or what?
When in doubt like this, instead of losing time, flip a coin. It isn't that big of a deal.
>3. With the two sub-directories I showed above, I think I
>can make these into new website right?
See my comments below...
>4. Any and all comments are welcome....
The biggest problem I see is the same one Mou or Faraz has, and that's your keyword selection.
Every keyword (therefore page created) includes "acid reflux". This just makes the page too optimized and will likely set off a red flag.
Use "acid reflux" in 3-5 links/pages.
Then do some LSI type research and swap those for most of what you have. "heart burn" is one that comes to mind. Ulcers, indegestion, etc.

Hi,
I have read the plans and goals thread and want to start doing whatever kurt and Bob mentioned.I would like to start building the black hole rss pheed from it.
My site is http://www.rowlingpotter.com and at the moment I have created an rss feed for it. It is here -- http://www.rowlingpotter.com/harry.xml
I have not included the links to all the pages in my site in this feed. So, should I include those too. I mean should I include links to all the pages in this site, in the harry.xml feed?
Now, I have also used this same feed in the blogs that I have created using pete's rss blog explosion software.
Now, this blog will also be having a feed, or I could create one for it from some third party site.
So,how am I supposed to use the blog feeds from the few blogs that I have created.
Should I make a list of links of the feeds that I have now? I mean, the feeds from my site - harry.xml , feeds from my different blogs 1.xml or 2.xml etc.
Or should I make a list of links and description for my site and blogs and then create ... umm, I am getting lost here.
I am just unable to figure it out.
Please help me create the black hole rss pheed of this site of mine.
bye,
faraz

Hi Faraz,If you have a question about the blackhole RSS, post it on the blackhole RSS thread. Also visit the How to create an RSS pheed thread, as well as the Scrubz threads.
I will say this, you don't need to over-analyzing things. Just do it. There is no perfect system for everyone.

>bye,
>faraz Here you go Faraz:
http://tophatbob.com/potter.xml
Each time you refresh it, the feed will change.
Each item has a link to a page on your site.
All I did was grab the urls and keywords from your site in your post and parsed the content from your webpages into lines for the RSS feed.
It could be cleaned up better, but it's a start for you.
Everything else is from following Kurt's instructions in the Black hole thread.
Now you have two choices:
Keep trying to make your own feed and members will help you
OR
Take this feed and move forward. Start putting it in your free blogs and promoting them.
Good luck with it.

Hi,
I would like to thank Bob first.
Thank you very very much Bob. Your reply was very helpful.
I was able to make my own blackhole pheed after I read your reply.
Take a look --http://www.rowlingpotter.com/harry-potter.xmlThe only problem is that the last few items are showing an error.
I have posted about the problem in the blackhole thread,so as not to irritate Kurt again.
Would be glad if you could help me out in this one too. I am trying to do it on my own as the knowledge will help me to create more pheeds for other sites of mine too.
