#0, Switching site using Blogbomb to another host.

Hi, I am switching my site to a different hosting company and will be transferring my site to a different hosting company. Now, the site that I will be transferring uses blogbomb, so I want to transfer it in such a way that I dont have to recreate the different pages that I have created using blogbomb.I want the different pheeds and blogbomb to stay as they are, without me having to install everything again. So, what do you suggest I do? Faraz

If you know telnet/ssi you can transfer all files using it, including scripts, permissions, etc. If not, I'd suggest you hire someone if possible. It's "easy" for someone that knows how to do it. It's possible your new host may be able to help. I'd contact them and see if they can help...If it's just one or two instances of Blogbomb they may do it for free. In addition to any html/php pages you have, be sure to backup this file in Blogbomb: data/config.pl If you do have to reinstall Blogbomb, having this file will save you from having to add your pheeds again. After the reinstall, just upload data/config.pl and overwrite the one on your host.

Hmm, So are you saying that if even if I have to reinstall blogbomb on the new host, I can just add the data/config.pl file and I wont have to add teh pheeds again? Then I think I will just reinstall blogbomb and just add the data/config.pl file and have the pheeds working again. If that's what you are saying, then it sounds good and I can do it myself.
Thanks.

Hi Faraz... Go to your site using FTP and download the data/config.pl file and take a look at it using any text editor and double check that it has your info in it...Keep it in a place like your desktop so you don't get it mixed up with other versions and accidently over-write it with a blank version. Then you should just be able to install BlogBomb, then upload your data/config.pl file that has all your info. You can also download the entire BlogBomb folder from your site and reupload it, which may actually be best to make sure you're running the same version...Just make sure to use the text transfer mode in your FTP client and you may want to download everything twice, and upload everything twice, being sure you don't miss any files.
