Enter your words or short phrases here. Keymapz will only include pages that contain these words in your links.

Match: Any All Exact
This determines how Keymapz searches your pages. Let's use "apple pie" as an example of your keywords or phrase entered above.

Any: Will include any page that contains either the words "apple" or "pie".

All: Includes pages that contain BOTH words "apple" and "pie".

Exact: The page must contain the exact phrase "apple pie."

Any will return the most results, but least relevant. Exact will be the most relevant but return the least results. All is "in the middle".

Case Sensitive
Will respect (or not) capital letters.

Whole Words
Will only include the search string if it is a "whole" word. For example, if you enter "pie", and select "whole words", pages containing "pies" (note the plural) will NOT be included.

Find keywords in:
-Page titles only
-Anywhere in entire page

Page Titles Only: Your keywords must be contained in the pages' tags.

Anywhere in entire page: Will include the page regardless of where the keywords are located.

Add links to single index
If selected, all pages matching your choices above will have links added to a single, specific page defined by you.

To enter a single page to use as a Keymapz, simply enter it's file name: index.html

This page must be in the folder that contains all your pages.

Add links to each page containing search keywords.
If selected, each page that meets your requirements above will have the links to each page inserted into them.

Allow Only Pages with These Extensions
(comma-separated).
Enter the file extensions you want Keymapz to consider in it's "map making". Just enter any extensions you want to include, separated by a comma. For example: html,htm,shtml,php will search this files for inclusion with your Keymapz.

Format links:
You have a lot of control over how your links will be displayed on your pages. You can use html for formatting, adding graphics, etc. Experiment to discover all the possibilities.

Preview:
To use the Preview feature, simply make some changes in your link format, then click any where in the page and look for the updates. Note: Preview function only works in Internet Explorer.

We want to use KeyMapz to create themed sites based on our store inventory for specific keywords. For example, using the keyword "poker" we would have a sitemap of all our poker related items to insert into our template for PageBomb and then use poker related keywords to create pages.

Do we have the right tool for the job? Will we have to create a mirror site on our hard drive to use KeyMapz?

Keymapz is a desktop windows app. In your situation, you will be creating pages on your hard drive using PageBomb.

1. Run PageBomb.

2. Run Keymapz on the PageBomb pages you just created.

3. Then upload pages.

Because your pages have dynamic elements, much of the content won't be added to the pages yet, which means it won't be visible to Keymapz on your hard drive. However, if the keywords are in the page title tags, Keymapz can read those and use the title tag as a reference for cross linking.

Be sure to plan ahead and add <!-- comment tags --> to your template so you can tell the tuelz where to add stuff later.

Ex:
<!-- start site index -->

Try to use generic terms and avoid words like "keymapz", as it will leave fingerprints.

I was using it to add links to the bottom of each page on a site Im building.

A feature missing, that would have been handy, would be to limit the number of links added to each page.

ie if your keyword choice finds 200 files with that word in them,
then only add a maximum of X per page instead of getting 200 links at the bottom of each page

Perhaps there's a way around this? that i'm missing.

You can't control the number of links precisely at this time.

But, by using more/fewer keywords and adjusting the variables, you do have a lot of control.

If you are getting too many links, make your keword strings longer and use stricter matching rules.

That's what Keymapz does, it uses the page titles for your anchor text. How else does it know what to name a page, and using the same keyword for all pages will become even more "spammy".

Using title tags is standard procedure for create site maps and directories, and every major engine uses your page title for anchor text.

It assumes you have decent, descriptive page titles. If you don't, the problem isn't with Keymapz, it's with your page naming strategy.
