87. "RE: zz tuelz image output"
|
Kelvin, Sometimes pheeds don't show properly in ZZ due to the RSS pheed not being formatted correctly. ZZ is very picky when it comes to RSS syntax. About the only thing I can suggest is to try another pheed...Sorry about that...

Kurt, Hw do I access this feed in ZZ or the Newz Tuel? "Then, I'll give details concerning Commentz using the RSS pheed embedded in ZZ. This will ensure only those with ZZ have access to this Commentz Special." I'm very interested in Commentz. Thanks Ernie |

Ernie... ZZ Tuel has an "admin" rss built into it on the mamin page (first page) of ZZ...Right now the pheeds says:
ZZ TuelOfficial RSS Pheed Welcome to ZZ Tuel This is the Official RSS pheed for ZZ Tuelz. Here's number 2 And here is where I can ramble on about this and that and the other thing, if you know what I mean. And, I am sure you do if you catch me drift.
I'll post the details for Commentz in the ZZ admin thread, so only those with registered versions of ZZ will have access to getting Commentz.

>zz is running updating ftp'ing whenever the tuelz is >running, that is- the tuelz-icon shows in the system-tray, >correct? Assuming you are connected to the Net, that is correct. To "stop" tuelz.exe, you must click the "Exit" link, not just close the browswer window.

94. "ZZ and YouTube's RSS feeds"
|
I've been experimenting with ZZ and a YouTube rss feed and am getting an issue that has me baffled. Here's an item from the feed. <img src="http://sjl-static3.sjl.youtube.com/vi/vv3ez9V-YuU/2.jpg" align="right" border="0" width="120" height="90" vspace="4" hspace="4" /> Now when I view the created page (I use Dreamweaver)from my local drive the image comes through perfect. However, when I upload it to my site the image disappears. I'm assuming this is the problem <<sjl-static3.sjl.>> in the image source. I have the title set to 100 and description to 3000. Anyone else having this issue or have a workaround to get the video frame to show up? Thanks Ernie |

>Ernie, > >I've never used YouTube so I don't really have a clue. > >However, I have a feeling this may have something to do with >Dreamweaver. Double check to make sure the html on both your >hard drive and your server are INDENTICAL. ==== Kurt, Thanks for the quick response. The HTML is identical, so it must be something with the static video frame jpeg in the feed. I tried it with two other RSS app's (one was CaRP) and the same thing happens - no video frame graphic. I'll keep playing with it and if I can get it to display I'll post the "solution" for everyone. Ernie

99. "ZZ Tuelz - incomplete RSS output"
|
Hi Kurt, There may not be anything you can do about this. I wanted to take the RSS from youtube, which has a lot of content. Here is the RSS feed from youtube. http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/videos?q=easy push button traffic&client=ytapi-youtube-search&v=2 Once thing I found is that to even get it to show in the newz tuelz, you have to add ( &alt=rss ) . At this point it shows fine in newz tuelz. So, I then setup the output via zz, you can see it here. http://kelvinbrown.com/zztemplate/
The problem seems to be in formatting. Not only did it loose the formatting, it only printed the video and the title, non of the description. FYI: google video does fine, except there RSS seems not to include the description, at all. Kelvin |

And you're right, I probably can't help much, but have you tried messing with the: Formatting Template for RSS Content ...Which is in the ZZ admin? The default is: <a href="{url}">{title=50}</a><br> {description=150}<br> Maybe add a <p> to the beginning and </p> to the end?
Something like: <p><a href="{url}">{title=50}</a><br> {description=150}<br> </p>

After I asked the question, I saw where it was posted that some of the RSS feeds had been changing. I tried changing the template, with no success. I see a lot of the little scripts that make video pages, but to me since the RSS contains the desc, that, that would give a big edge , as more content on themed page.s Kelvin
PS Glad to be back |

Hi Kurt, I can do a single output just fine, But if i try to print 2 or more items, then it messes up. I figured out somewhat, the problem. The output is using sever div tags, so when u do more than one item it shifts. I had a little success adding tables, but I am not a programmer, so could not get it just right. So, on to the next step. Kelvin |

If tables work, let's try this: Add the folloowing code to the template pages: <table width=> </table>
Have ZZ insert the RSS AFTER: <table width=> (This gives us a "unique" table tag, incase you use other tables on the page.) In the "Formatting Template for RSS Content" in ZZ add this to the begining of the formatting: <tr align="top"><td> Add the following to the end of the formatting: </td></tr> You should have something like this in the Formatting Template for RSS Content box: <tr align="top"><td> <a href="{url}">{title=50}</a><br> {description=150}<br> </td></tr>

Hi Kurt, I tried several options using the info you gave me. Some worked better, but I can't spend any more time on it. Maybe later, I can pay someone to look at it, if i want to go further. Kelvin |

This is really a Tuelz problem, not a ZZ question, and this is the ZZ thread. I believe the problem is you have projects that have "broken" with changing computers. For example, file paths to ZZ prodect folders are likely not the same. This causes Tuelz to fail. Try moving tuelz.dat into another folder, or delete it (but save it somewhere) and see if that fixes the problem. Unfortunately, I don't have a fix that will import old projects, and not sure there really is one. Again, backup the tuelz.dat file and delete it from the tuelz folder and let me know if the Tuelz work after that.
