77. "RE: Non-US Reseller Hosting"
|
Hi Isobel, I, too, have signed-up for EPN, and also saw the proviso regarding US-based employees etc. As I don't directly employ any of the staff at my hosting provider, my interpretation of Ebay's Terms is different to yours. If your interpretation was valid, then any money earned through sites based on US hosting would be liable to US taxation. I can't see that happening any time soon, otherwise a large number of US based hosting providers would be losing a significant chunk of their market. I have come across similar terms in other affiliate sign-up processes and my interpretation has always been that, as I have no directly employed US representatives, I have no need to pay US based taxes. I am in the UK as well. My hosting is mostly in the US, but beyond that, I have no direct representation State-side. I'm no lawyer or accountant, but my belief is, that as I am not a US citizen, nor have I any legal entity based in the US, my only taxation liability, is to the UK. As I don't earn very much from any Internet based activity currently, my liability is negligible, either in the UK or the US. Should that change, I would take the precaution of taking both legal and accountancy advice. If you are earning a significant amount from your Ebay activities, it may pay you to do the same and be sure one way or the other. At the very least it may save you from having to hunt down alternative hosting, outside the US. As another thought, if you found hosting say in Australia, would your earnings then be liable to Aussie taxation? I don't believe that they would. That's my interpretation, for what it's worth. As I stated above, the only way to be certain, would be to take legal and accountancy advice from qualified experts. Good luck with your return to the Internet scene BTW Kind regards Ian |

78. "RE: Non-US Reseller Hosting"
|
Hi Ian Great to have another Brit here! I read ebay's terms very closely and they specifically mention US based hosting services. The issue is not necessarily having to pay US tax, it's more that you have to sign a US tax form saying that you're not a US resident and that you will pay tax in the UK etc etc because the UK and US have a double taxation agreement. Most affiliate programs don't bother until you earn more than $600 in a year, at which point they do ask you to sign it. I've come across this a few times and I'd rather avoid the hassle altogether if I can. Australian tax law doesn't come into it because ebay is a US company and they will be (hopefully) paying me in the UK so they're not interested in where my servers are as long as they're not in the US. As it happens I am an accountant, although international tax isn't my speciality My Australian hosting provider did actually get back to me today with many apologies so I may give them another chance. 81. "Mr. Rat Amazon Script Update Tips"
|
I guess not many here using Mr. Rat's Amazon script, but I just updated from the "very" old version to the latest one, and thought it might help the people here who are using the older version of script, if any... It was much easier to update than I thought. It used to be all templates in the templates folder, but the latest version uses different folders, for ex: The Older: item_1.template, item_2.template, page_1.template, page_2.template, products_1.template, products_2.template, etc, etc,. The Latest: Just make a folder associate with; if you were using the item_1.template for the side bar, make folder for the side bar and rename: item_1.template to item.template and put it in the side bar folder and link to it: amazon.cgi?Operation=ItemSearch&SearchIndex=Books&Keywords=key word&templates=sidebar&link_templates=fullpage&max_results=5 You can still use the same variables in the templates, but the display variables are totally different: input_templates --> templates=sidebar input_link_templates --> link_templates=fullpage input_max=5 --> max_results=5 Ut

82. "RE: Been chasing my tail Help"
|
For the last three weeks I have been going around in circles. I bought this fantastic script on the WSO from Big Mike that enables me to get feeds from Amazon,Ebay and clickbank which to me for only $17 beats this store stacker and Bans hands down. My biggest fear is when I make my store is I don't know if I'll get into trouble using the names Amazon, eBay and clickbank, but I need to so that the visitors know where the deals are coming from. On another note I was thinking of using blog bomb also in other sites, but not sure if my hosting provider ( Host Gator) can handle it. I have the original blog bomb from about two years ago and used it when I had a VPS account with servant. Had to drop it last November when my car's water pump needed replaced. I guess I just need to know how to handle the name question. Tom |

LAST EDITED ON May-12-08 AT 09:53 AM (PST) Hey Tas,Other than using a Proxy ... Have you tried turning off or unplugging the power of your Cable/DSL modem for five minutes or so? THat sometimes does it. If it doesn't work try it again, or do it overnight while you are sleeping. Wake up and plug it back in. You should be good to go then. Now if you use Braodband you might want to contact your service provider. Hope this helps... Mary

Tas, I don't use proxy either. And yes, you are correct about Blogger. The thing about the cable modem is that once you do it, the IP cahnges permenantly. I didn't realize you wanted to keep the IP addresses. Umm ... it seems to me Kurt gave a resolution for this in one of his threads, but I cannot remember which one that is. I'll try looking for it later this eve if you'd like. Or you can ask Kurt about it. Did you try Googling for a service that does this? There might be something out there too. That's the best I've got.... Mary http://www.quantum-seek.com | http://www.marketersspaceforum.com |

I'm here. I apoligize for things being slow lately. I've had massive PC problems and to be honest, I've has some creative "blocks" recently. I need folks to comment on stuff to help get me going. For example, I did the StumbleUpon thread and it got no responses at all (although Kelvin did make a post). When something gets no response, I figure there is no interest. I had planned on us doing StumbleUpon, but when there is no interest/comments, I figured "why bother"? This month we'll work on RSS again, as well as mTurk.

Hi Kurt, Na, no need to apologize chief! We still love ya! Seriously though, we know what you've been going thru. I guess I wanted to see what other people were doing, and possibly shake the house a little lol. I know many of us have been working on our networks and sites, so my guess is that it's not a matter of what you are posting or what topics you post. Besides, I remember what I was like when I first got my Bombs and Tuelz. They were like new toys to me as they still are, so it's easy to get working without poking my head up to see what's going on. You have to remember that you posted a ton of ideas in this forum, plus people added to them. It's a lot to grasp, apply, and keep up the pace. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with regarding RSS and Mturk. Mary

Yeah Kurt, I think Mary's right - sorry, talk about "piggyback posting" lol! - But really, here are a lot of info to digest and apply (I thank you Kurt and everybody here for that), and its kinda easy to get lost here, coz everything here related to some other things. Of course, its not your fault Kurt, but I tend to side tracked one thing to other. Guess I need more focus. Thanks again, talk to you later everyone. Ut |

Glad to see you too! Hey, I have a quick question for you ... ServInt updated their PHP to 5.2. Are you having problems running BBX2 on your servers or sites/blogs? I've been talking back and forth with support all night and keep trying to tell them it is a parse error. They are telling me I have something missing in the script. True I had to reinstall the script maybe a week ago, but it has been running fine until last eve. Matter of fact, I have the feeds showing on my site here: www.gamedome4u.com The problem or error comes up when I add an RSS feed. If you have the same problem, or did have, how did you get it fixed lol??? Inquiring mind wants to know! Seems to me I had this same problem when they upgraded the PHP to 5.0 too, but no one seems to know what they did to get it to work again. I'd appreciate any advice you can give ... Thanks! Mary

Hi Mary I've had that problem with Hostgator. They recently re-compiled the Perl modules to upgrade them the latest version, and they didn't include one of the XML::RSS modules and my 'zon script stopped working. I'd hazard a guess you'll find something similar has occurred with your hosting. I hope you get it sorted soon Kind regards Ian OH and I'm still here, just very busy with other projects at the moment. |

I am fixed up now so you guys know. You won't believe what the problem was, and it took my host and me till about 6:00 am to figure things out. The feed I entered led to nowhere! Man, this has turned out to be one heck of a week, andit's starting to show because I'm making stupid mistakes. So now everyone knows that if you enter a feed that leads to nowhere in BBX, you will get an error message saying to contact the webmaster. Kurt,

Hey Taz, I meant to say perl, not PHP lol. I ended up using PHP to support too, and I think Kurt. What can I say, it was a very long night. Btw, I am using PHP 5.2 now, and it is working just fine. What ServInt did was re-add the XML Parser. Put that together with a usable feed, and it works like a charm! Thanks for responding, and take care ... Mary

|
I recently went through a complete fatal hard drive crash. What a headache that was. Since then, I've replace the HD with a much bigger one, reloaded XP, and was able to collect some info off the old drive. One item I retrieved was my Outlook.pst file. When I move it into the Outlook folder, were it belongs, Outlook 2002 doesn't see it. How do I get Outlook to see, and use, the .pst file? Many have directed me to the MS website but trying to follow their ideas is like pi**in' in the wind. There's gotta be a way to do this. Anyone have an answer? Thanks, John |

Hi Kurt, I arrived at dombom via Warrior Forum, and after reading your WSO I joined at dombom. So, I thought we got all the perl scripts with our membership. It looks like we have to pay/wait for them. Should I join through the WSO and save a bunch of money? And/or not have to wait. Right now I just want to follow your and Dan's advice: >1- Blog bomb install, config, set up >2- Get to know RSS inside and out, >3- get pheeds to make pheeds >4- Make tin sites >5- add content to sites, rewrite them for silver sites, add >gold content to gold sites, and monetize them > >6- then fat bomb But it looks like all I have access to is blogbomb. Is that all I need? Thanks.

For those wondering, I'm still here, also. Just been busy finishing up computer HD massive failure and rebuild, car dying when least expected and no one can find the problem, AND...been working with "Social Niche Bulder" software, testing it out. Seems to be a good application. Can be targeted to any niche, has built-in Simple Machine Forum, chat capabilites, photos, videos, it's your own social networking site. I would guess this application would be a "gold" site, but I may be wrong. That's actually my question. Use SNB with outlying Silver and Tin as pointers? Still deciding on which niche to go for first. If you use SNB, there are two things you have to be aware of: 1. Must be uploaded to the domain ROOT directory. Too much to change if you put it in a sub-folder. 2. Captcha may not show up if your host hasn't got it "turned on." Other than that, it was a snap! Then, add Bombz and Tuelz and I see possibilities developing big time. Script also uses a "bad word" file which you can add to. Poster uses a bad word from the list and they can't log in next time. Good safety catch. Just a little review and a question. John |

LAST EDITED ON Jun-16-08 AT 09:49 AM (PST) Kurt,It was before "Tuelz." So, it must be GfB as I was using it on the site where I remember seeing the "archive" feature. Right now, trying to figure out which niche I want to attack. Then, upload the software that I'll be using and get everything configured. I'll be posting about what I'm running into and how things are going so the new bombers can see what's going on. Once I figure out the niche, I'll get a long-tail-domain-name and I've got hosting covered. Then, as I'm working on it, I'll let bombers come "in" and look around. Explanations will be posted in this private forum. No need for the "cluck-clucks" to follow us. This is the fun part of Bombing and Tueling around. When you have your concept in mind, all your pieces ready and then, on to solve the "puzzle." Maybe someone here can help me with one final question: There's a software, I know I have it and can't think of the name of it. It's either a tracker or tracker-like script that does NOT show your CB affiliate ID in the Address line, only at the bottom of the CB purchase page. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I think it's been on several giveaways as I don't remember buying it. Now, what niche/name to use???????? John |

I turned off the firewall and that did not help. yesterday I re-booted and then it worked, but today no such luck. using win xp pro with sp 3 Yesterday when tuelzBS99 did open INZ was not on the list of programs. I tried to open INZ by clicking on it and that did not work. Windows sees the .mod extention as a video file, I changed properties to have the .mod open with tuelz. anyone have this kind of thing happen just sometimes not other times? What else can I check? Hi guys, I need a favor from some of you that are successful at making money from using Fatty and BBX on their sites and blogs. Iam planning to run a WSO in the WF for fully loaded niche businesses and need some testimonials. These are Joomla! sites with professional templates, content, affiliate products, and the whole 9 yrads. If you think you can give me a testimonial, please PM me. I'd greatly appreciate it. Btw, I did contact a couple of Bombers today, so if you were already asked, please consider it. Thanks ... Mary
P.S. Btw Kurt, if this isn't the place to post this please feel free to delete it.

It's nice to have, because you can have instant access offline to your Paypal funds. No waiting 3 days or more for bank transfers, etc. It takes a couple of weeks to receive it, & they send you renewals every couple of years I think. You get a PIN for ATM cash withdrawal, etc., & I think you have to call from your home phone to activate. Not sure how that will work where you live, or if you can use in ATMs etc. there. Hi John, Love my Paypal card. Only problem I've ever had is right now...I was supposed to have gotten the replacement a month ago, but it hasn't arrived. Part of this is likely due to me still using a LV mailing address. And this isn't any more a Paypal issue and could happen with anything.

Actually, activation is done through your Paypal account, if and when you get your card.

As some of you know I have been inactive for awhile, and just recently try three months getting back into trying to make some money on line. This is my first site in over a year http://shopermart.com I used to have 14 sites and mostly was using AD Sense. They were making pennies and I needed the money to keep paying my med bills. So I droped them and kind of backed off, and just work at my part time job. Could all of you take a look at my site and give me some suggestions, and advice. I would appreciate it. Oh I almost forgot. I have another domain name that I haven't done any thing with as it's my name tomeleam.com. What kind of site can I make out of it? I read somewhere that having your own name as a domain name is good for branding? Tom |

Site looks fine, however Amazon will be as tough or tougher to make money from as was AdSense. My question is, what's your marketing plan? How do you plan on getting traffic? You need to make blogs and mini sites about each and every topic on your main/gold site. Start another site about mp3s. How to make them, download them, etc. Also, look for song and musuc reviews, etc. Remember, getting the first site is only 1-5% of the work. Marketing/promoting it is the other 95% .

Well I could use that for the content then, and concentrate on eBay and Clickbank. How come it would be harder to make money as an Amazon affiliate?> >My question is, what's your marketing plan? I am in a bind now as I don't have my part time job anymore, can't walk now (only for short distances) so my total income right now is $967 a month so things a a little tough right now and I just stay at home and work on my site. I can't do to much at a time though as I tire easily. What can I use my other domain name that is my name for? I hate to see it go to waste. Sorry to hear about your health...The good news is, there's now tons and tons of free places for you to use and exploit, so you don't need to spend money on hosting and domain names. I sent you some info a while back. I think you should follow that plan.

Kurt or anyone else caring to comment, A few days ago I ran Kaspersky Labs anti virus software to remove ad.yieldmanager. I have recently noticed that tuelz will no longer open. I don't know if the Kaspersky is related to tuelz not opening; howver, I mention it because noticed that tuelz stopped funtioning sometime after doing the run. When I click on the tuelz .exe, I get an hour glass for a few moments and then nothing. Also, the tuel bar appears to have vanished from my computer. But that's another issue. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks, Evan |

If it's a firewall issue, you'll need to add Tuelz.exe as an allowed application. You should be able to shut down Kaspersky - usually a right-click and choose Exit or something similar. I'd try that, then run Tuelz.exe and you'll know for sure. Jeff Join the MadBomber VIP here...

142. "RE: Mysterious Tuelz Trouble"
|
I'd appreciate anyone's advice, Basically, to summarize, Tuelz has stopped working, and this appears to be correlated to running Kaspersky Labs anti virus software. However, I have turned it off and even replaced the tuelz.exe but for some reason, tuelz will simply not open. Regarding the tuel bar, I did a reinstall and that is working fine. By the way, I'm running XP, and in the recent past, Tuelz has run like clockwork. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks, Evan

>Hi all, > >What tools do I need to use to scrape a public domain site? > >Ultimately, I want the scrapings to end up in a word press >blog. (if that makes any difference) > >Charles Hi Charles
Try HTTRack http://www.httrack.com/page/2/en/index.html . It will copy all the pages on the site down to the level you specify in the setup before you set it running. You may need to experiment a little with settings to obtain optimal results. HTH Kind regards Ian |

Hi Charles You can use a variety of the Tuelz to do what you want. Replacez, Tagz, Listz and Linez, together with Textpad are the Tuelz I use regularly to manipulate text. HTH Kind regards Ian |

150. "BlogBomb VS Tulz"
|
Hi, New guy with questions. I've been reading a lot and I found Kurt's Plans and Goals post. I see that step one is just to stick to understanding BlogBomb, but then I've noticed in other threads that it seems like Tulz does what BlogBomb does without all of the cgi and perl stuff. Is that correct? If so should I focus on BlogBomb or Tulz to start? Thanks, Blase |
