HI Faraz, Sorry for the slow reply. I am out of the country until November 19 and access to the web will be limited. You can use any wordpress theme. The key is that you have to actually view the wordpress page so that all the php has been loaded then you save the source as an html. That way all the components are there. I hope that made sense. If not post again and I will try to clarify. Blessings, ed |

Let me just tell you what I have understood. We have to open the wordpress page or blog and when it is completely loaded (i.e. we get "done" in the status bar of internet explorer) then we view source and save it. That would be the html, right? And then we can do whatever we want in frontpage or any html editor. This is what I have understood. I hope I got it right. Thanks for your help. bye, faraz

Hi Faraz and Everyone... Faraz, while you can use WP "themes", it will take some html skill to convert them to html, then add the Fatty tags needed to display the results. Another option is to use html templates, which will save a step or two... http://www.oswd.org/ has more than 2000 basic templates you can use. And again, I suggest creating a couple of simple html templates, then using/buying graphic headers and some basic color combos. I think you'd be surprised how different the same html template will look just by changing the header and colors. See this thread for my intro to CSS: http://www.dombom.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=13&forum=DCForumID42 Combine this with the pageL, pageR, pageLR "skins" (templates) in your Fatty "skins" folder, slap in a good graphic header and you're ready to pump out site after site!!!
-Boom boom boom boom.

Kurt, Exactly! I've used the most basic html templates and simply changed headers and colors, and wound up with some good looking sites. For what we are doing, it works well like that. WP themes tend to bog down because they are time consuming to convert....and when bombing, time matters. Some would say you are sacrificing good looks for time, and it just isn't so. For what it is worth, my suggestion would be to get some simple sites up, get them indexed, get a linking strategy set up, add to them, and then let them season while you are building more sites. You can always change the design later when you have a catch up period. Mary
