"Goals and Procrastination"
|
Hey, You won't get anywhere in internet marketing unless you have clearly-defined goals and the motivation to get them accomplished. These are my favorite books on the subject. You can get both for about $20 or so total. 1. Think and Grow Rich (Napoleon Hill). The title is cheesy but the book is a gem. It will help you set your goals and focus your energy. You can apply the info to all aspects of your life. 2. The Now Habit (Neil Fiore). This book will help you put the knowledge in Think and Grow Rich into action. The book will change your perspective on how you handle tasks and approach work. It will help you defeat your procrastination. Fiore also recommends using something he calls the Unschedule. I use it daily. It's perfect for people who want to get things done but don't like the restrictions of a regular schedule. It's also an easy to way to make sure you're actually making progress. And you don't have to buy any expensive binders or worksheets! Rich

3. "RE: Goals and Procrastination"

Hi Leigh, Basically, you make a weekly schedule with hourly increments. Then you schedule time for sleep, free time, recreation, socializing, exercising, etc. You don't schedule any work. Then whenever you get at least an half hour of uninterrupted work done, you shade in your schedule. Then each week you tally your hours worked. The unschedule works to motivate you because you mark off time for what the author calls "guilt-free play" and because you can see quantifiable progress. It's easy to kid yourself that you're doing serious work when you're just surfing or whatever. If you only shade in actual uninterrupted work, you'll increase your productivity. There's a lot more psychology involved behind the system but those are the basics. Check out the reviews on Amazon. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've never been able to stick to regular schedules but the unschedule turns the concept on its head. When you look at week's work, it gives you a certain satisfaction and you actually feel bad if you don't get a good amount of work in. Cheers, Rich |
