"Alternative Marketing Resources and Content Recycling"
|
LAST EDITED ON Oct-26-10 AT 11:54 AM (PST) Most of the marketing stuff out today focuses on the same types of resources.Let's use this thread to expand the possibilities. This will greatly diversify your linking and traffic, as well as let you use a lot of the same content, but in different formats. I've tried to post direct links to the "sign up" pages when possible, but some use popup windows that can't be linked to... Come to this page using Firefox with the "open selection" plugin and open each set of links in tabs. You should be able to sign up for each very quickly.

Adsense Revenue Sharing SitesI was going to research this myself, but someone already did the work for me...Here's a great page containing a list of sites that accept content AND offer Adsense revenue sharing. http://www.reviewerofsites.com/the-internets-largest-list-of-adsense-revenue-sharing-sites/ If you're going to post content, may as use some that offer you the chance to get paid. Note that using your Adsense ID tells Google exactly who is in control of the page/content. This is a dead give-away that the two pages are "affiliated", meaning "hilltop" is in effect.

Start Your Own Award Site 1. Go to Fiverr.com and order a really good looking award graphic. It has to look really good and it also has to be small enough in design that other webmasters will actually want to add it to their pages.
2. Create your own niche "Cool Site of the Day", but make the niche a broad one. 3. Find sites you like and add them to your own "cool" site. 4. Contact the site owners and tell them that you've named them "cool site" and that they can post your award on their site. Just send them the code to the graphic hosted on your site, include a link back to your site in the HTML. 5. People are MUCH more likely to add an "award" that links to your site, than swap links, even though the end effect is the same. Use some SEO skills and look for high PR, high ranking sites in your niches. Also, be sure to only add only high quality sites to your "cool site". This makes your award more prestigious and also makes sure your cool site not only links to high quality sites, but also you get a lot of links from other high quality sites. This is also a great "ice breaker" if you are trying to network in your niche. Plus, if you have FatBomb installed, think about how you may combine the two...Add a bunch of sites to your Fatty, but give the "awarded" sites top ranking in your own SERPs. You can even add your award graphic to their details so it shows up when their site is listed. This is another great way to build "currency" with other sites in your niches.

Make A Cool SiteThe goal here is simply to make a really cool site to look at, with the goal of submitting it to "Cool Site of the Day" sites. There's many ways to do this, but here's an idea you may not have thought of...It will cost a little money if you aren't a good graphic designer and will still take some design skills...But it is also fun for someone willing to do it. 1. Think of a "theme" of photos you may be able to use, such as sports, nature, etc. 2. Go to www.morguefile.com and see if you can't find enough good photos to create a site about. Use morguefile because it has the most liberal usage license and you don't need to even give credit. 3. Go to www.templatemonster.com and find a really good looking template suitable for displaying photographs. Here's a good example...This template is $72: http://www.templatemonster.com/flash-templates/30923.html The arts and photography category is good for this...There's over 800 templates in this category alone. http://www.templatemonster.com/category/art-photography/ Flash, audio, etc is OK. We're not worried about SEO at this point in time. 4. Add your photos to the template, creating a cool, great looking site around some theme, like "beaches"...If you have any geo-targeted sites, look for pictures for that area. 5. Submit to the various "Cool Site of the Day" sites. Also do a google for something like "keyword awards", etc. There's often award sites for popular niches. You can also use this site as a camouflage site. Also add links to it from directories, profiles, etc. http://Netguide.com PR=7 http://botw.org/helpcenter/submitcommercial.aspx PR=7 http://www.thenetawards.com PR=6 http://CoolSiteoftheDay.com PR=6 http://WebofCulture.com PR=6 http://TheBeeline.com PR=5 http://WebGear.com PR=5 http://WebZone.com PR=4 http://StartingPoint.com PR=4 http://WebbieWorld.com PR=4 http://DigitalDesigns.com PR=4 http://CountryMall.com PR=3 http://EliteSiteAward.com PR=2 http://CyberTeddy.com PR=1 http://InfoZone.com PR=1 http://Online-Europe.com PR=1 http://AwardNet.com PR=0 http://Platinum100.com PR=0 http://SiteoftheDay.com PR=0 http://SevenWonders.com PR=0 http://HighFive.com PR=0 http://CyberEagle.com PR=0 http://ProAward.com PR=0 http://SurfersChoice.com PR=0 6. Once you get links, let it age a little, then pass the link juice on to your other stuff. Use the flash links as GREAT "nofollow" links, but add your links using basic HTML, etc.

Due to Google's recent "farmer slap", it made me wonder if the doc sites (see response #1 Document Sharing Sites above) if these sites are holding up? Basically, you take your articles and convert them to .doc and/or .pdf files and submit them to sites other than the "typcical" article directories. Anyone experienced with the .doc directories have any info you'd care to share?
